Driving Paddy

Today I played chauffeuse to a legend. IAM RoadSmart, the renamed Institute of Advanced Motorists, celebrated its 60th anniversary with an event at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon.

Part of it comprised audience Q&A sessions with a panel of three, comprising rally legend Paddy Hopkirk, my old Top Gear chum Chris Goffey, and me.

As my route to Gaydon took me close to the Hopkirk residence, I gave the former Monte Carlo Rally winner a lift. Paddy is a great raconteur, so it was a memorable trip!
