Nettle-leaved bellflower

Today was one of those days when whatever you try to take a photograph of either flies off or moves in the wind just as you press the shutter!
On top of this I got stuck in a traffic jam for over an hour, which really made my day!
For my blip I have chosen this very showy Nettle-leaved bellflower Campanula trachelium, a large and very showy member of the Campanula family found on calcareous soils.
Emoresgate Seeds has this to say about it -
" The common name is a fair description of the plant which has attractive mid blue, bell shaped flowers and stinging nettle like leaves. Nettle-leaved bellflower is a medium to tall, roughly hairy perennial which is in flower from June to September. It is large native perennial herb of dry, calcareous soils found in woodland, scrubby grassland and hedge banks. Long term it requires occasional periods of disturbance to persist and thrives particularly well in actively coppiced woodland. "
Hopefully tomorrow will be better!!
