Pour on that MSG!

Well, we made an Air China flight out of Heathrow last night by the skin of our teeth and here we are in hot & humid Beijing! Fantastic!! Just a pity that our luggage is still in London but one thing at a time I guess.
Daniel and Tingting met us at the airport, got us to our hotel in the city centre, then took us for a wander through a huatong and into a popular restaurant district. There were crowds of folk sitting outside dozens of restaurants waiting for tables freeing up. Never seen anything like it. The food in the place we ate was terrific, lived up to all expectations, but the dishes just kept on arriving! Did my best but it defeated me in the end - even left some duck. That's another first!
It was 35C today and it's going to be hotter tomorrow. I foresee a Chinese siesta!
