Maribou Stork

This large fellow hangs with the vultures to assist in the picking clean of carcasses.

This is photographed in Tsavo National park Kenya. In the background are the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro with the clouds gathering as they do during the day. The only time to see the whole mountain is early morning.

The film I was using is Fuji slide film ISO 100 and it is pre-Fujichrome. I scanned it at 2700 DPI. I find the resolution somewhat less than expected. The image was taken in October 1982 using a Nikon FE using a 200mm f4 Nikkor lens.
