Juicing

I decided since I'm always exhausted etc, that I might try the Jason Vale juicing thing. I must admit I knew very little, and downloaded an app rather than reading his book, but I thought it could only be of benefit.

I love fruits and veggies, but my smoothies are usually just fruit, so I was keen to try and include more veggies. I'm on day 3 today. I haven't stuck completely to the recipes, simply because I've run out of the array of stuff needed and having a very busy week at work I haven't had time to keep running to the shops!

I don't know whether it's just psychological, but I feel better. My tummy feels flatter, and maybe it's just knowing that you're feeding your body what it needs rather than what you think it wants! ;-) Never one to commit 100% to something (!), I have "adapted" it to suit me. I'm never going to give up caffeine, i.e.; tea, although I never drink coffee as I don't like the taste. Plus my worst time is first thing, so I have had a very thin slice of wholemeal toast with a few slices of banana which keeps me going until the juice. I think it will be easier once school is over, as it makes the day longer. But last year I succumbed to that dreadful Protein World, and again, I adapted it to suit me and lost nearly a stone in about 5 weeks, so I'm hopeful that will work here too.

The only snag, is that I don't have a proper juicer. I've been using an old Braun hand mixer which is not the same. But does it matter? I gather the juicer leaves you without the pulp, but does it matter if I keep it in? I'm going to have a look for a juicer, so any recommendations gratefully received!

Perhaps HeartFreek might have some tips?
