2016 Friday -- Ragged Point, Big Sur Coast
Today we drove north to Ragged Point on the Big Sur Coast. We've enjoyed a very interesting day. We were at the snack shack at Ragged Point waiting in line, discussing what to order -- a veggie burger or a veggie burger (I'm only slightly kidding). Mr. Fun was telling me I could have fish & chips (he knows that's my weakness when I'm bored with the non-meat diet).
Then the man in front of us turned around and asked, "Are you two out for just the day?" His question led to an hour-long discussion while the three of us ate lunch together. He's a retired architect from Vancouver, WA, and rode his motorcycle to Monterey with a group of guy friends for the races this weekend at Laguna Seca. All his friends were at the track today and he decided to ride the Big Sur Coast.
We decided we'd need to order dinner if the three of us didn't stop talking (and we could have talked for hours). So we said our goodbyes. Then he headed north and we drove south. It was fun and refreshing! Moments like that happen never in SoCal.
We've now enjoyed an evening meal of zucchini flowers dipped in tempura batter and sauteed (delicious, but almost a disaster). I'll save that story for another day.
From California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
