Speak of the devil

Only yesterday did I mentioned to a friend that I hadn't seen any Great Crested Grebes for quite some time and this afternoon one appeared when I was on my way to the supermarket for Rosie's greens.

Before I went out, I stood on my balcony and took a few photos with the new lens, trying to get used to how it works differently from the Canon ones that I have. The only thing I can say about them is that I definitely need more practice.
