What is this?

It's a 'Loge de commis de ferme!' Or in English its somewhere the farm hand would have slept when out looking after the animals in the fields. The inside only has a mattress and the whole thing is lined with twisted rope for insulation. It is not very long so they must have slept curled up. It was taken to the field by a horse and left for the worker. This was on the land where our gite was and is possible 2 to 300 years old. It is in very good condition considering its age!
