Full of Life
A colleague asked me to help out taking a few photographs today at a brilliant place called Full of Life. It is a small centre for children and young people with disabilities and their families - they can get support, socialise with other youngsters and have just have fun.
The centre was launching a new local initiative, safe places, that encourages shops and other public spaces to become places of safety for the most vulnerable people in our communities.
If you see a shop displaying the 'Safe Places' sticker you know that it is somewhere you can go if you are feeling unwell, are lost, feeling anxious, unsafe, need to make a phone call, need someone to make a call for you, are a victim of crime or abuse.......and you will be safe, supported, reassured and looked after.
This is a mother talking with great passion and eloquence about the challenges and joys of having two sons with autism and how both Full of Life and The Safe Places scheme are so important to her and her family.
