Lost in Thought

Ouch!

This is one of the reasons I have not blipped for a few days ...

As part of our move we packed all of our son's 'stuff' into a hire van and Gill and a friend drove it up to Leeds, while I slept after a night shift, so Stuart and his partner Leanne could move into their new flat and start their new jobs.  As we were loading a TV stand into the van the top came loose and in the ensuing 'everyone grab a piece' session I bashed my shin against either the back of the van, or the trolley we had the boxes on, or possibly both and although it didn't hurt much at the time, three days later* I was sat in the GP's surgery with the practice nurse and my GP deciding on what to do ... antibiotics and keep it clean .... This is a mobile phone camera image I sent to the GP as part of a telephone consultation.

Much better now but it's not something I'll be doing again!

* my choice not to call him or go to hospital on the day.  My GP operates a telephone first system where he calls patients back and decides on who he needs to see.  It works well,  and has cut down on the number of people needing a 5 minute discussion taking up a whole appointment and anyone who needs more of his time gets that.  After that first call I was in the surgery within an hour.
