A Duck Rescue

I was downtown trying to shoot dragonflies, when two cars pulled up. The three young ladies (I think two sisters and a toddler) got out of their cars, and one of them had something wrapped up in a blue towel.

I didn't get the full story, but evidently the duck was trying to fly across one of our busy roads, another car hit it, and it ended up underneath one of the cars. Aunt Shelly picked it up, and wrapped it in the blue towel...much like you wrap a baby in swaddling clothes.

She gently lowered it to the ground, and unwrapped the towel. After what seemed like several moments...I was beginning to wonder if the duck was going to move. He/she looked sort of bewildered. Perhaps in shock?

But, eventually the duck ventured forth. I know that you think that I cannot interpret duck talk...but in the bottom photo...the duck is saying..."Thank you for saving me. Thank you for caring."

Great job Aunt Shelly.
