Tea is harvested mechanically with a massive machine. In the more inaccessible areas two men drag a hedge trimmer over the tops of the bushes. Every three years the bushes are chopped to regenerate them. The tea is collected in sacks and an overhead portable pulley system takes the tea down the valley. The tea gardens are nearly 100 years old. When the fresh leaves reach the factory they are wilted, crushed, fermented and dried before being graded.
