Fittie 1
There is this really lovely little place at the foot of the River Dee called Fittie (Doric scot for Foot-of-Dee), it used to be an old fishing village where the Dee meets the sea. They are simple cottages are with low ceilings, arranged in a square to provide shelter from the elements in the central square. That's where life used to be happening with the women processing the fish that the fishermen brought in from the sea.
Now the village is nestled between the river the sea and a bleak industrial estate, a little hidden gem. People who live there take pride in their houses and they are all lovingly decorated with all things to do with the sea and other more general knick-knacks and funny things.
What a great place to start a photo series. So I will return and show you all the little gems that are in Fittie.
Starting with this one: a converted outhouse in the central square where Tom, Dick and Harry live.
Dick says: "HELLO, enjoy your stay in ABERDEEN".
