Dirk and Elsa

Some guests who stayed with us a few years ago called in today to say hello on their way back from a grand tour of Scotland.

They are real history and archaeology enthusiasts and in fact were volunteering in Sagalossus when the huge head and foot of Hadrian were found.

They are also extremely likable characters - both are teachers in Belgium and when they stayed with us it was Dirk's birthday and at breakfast we took out about a dozen birthday cards that had been sent from his 15-16 year old students!

And they brought us some delicious Belgian beer and waffles.
