Pub Sign Challenge - Day 4

The Challenge resumes after a short holiday interlude.

Here we have a 'Royal' Oak this time and not just a 'The' Oak as in Day 1. This particular one is in Charlton Village and is lovely.

Rob Francis says of the pub ...Made a visit to this pub in July last year, and I was very impressed. The beer was excellent, the staff friendly, and the garden to the side of the pub was large. I will endeavour to come back again.

I am unclear about its age, history etc except to say that it is now run as part of the Greene King franchise chain.....

Went back to work today (or rather sat in the study at home and worked on a presentation I have to give on Friday), but was largely distracted by the Olympics (particualry the sailing and beach volley ball (no surprise there really is there!!) on the BBC website - its brilliant if you have fast down loading broadband.....it meant I didnt have to 1) move a tv to the study, 2) go and sit somewhere else or 3) have to keep getting up and running through to the TV. I suspect that this might be the run of things to come for the next couple of weeks!!
