The Old Man of Storr
We are taking advantage of the weather to pack in the 'big things' before it changes midweek and we have to fall back on watching the Olympics and reading our assorted novels by the open fire. So today we have had a full day on Skye, spending the morning climbing up to the Old Man of Storr and exploring the surrounding paths and rock formations, then we drove further north to The Trotternish Ridge and The Quiraing, having another couple of hours walking along its length in beautiful sunshine, which was sadly in the wrong place for photographs to do it justice, particularly as I forgot to take my polarising filter with me! We drove back to Portree via the west coast, had tea and toasted tea cakes, picked up some shopping and postcards (and a fridge magnet!) then came home to a yummy meal of chicken prepared by Verity. We are now relaxing by the fire with full glasses of wine and watching the Olympic hockey. Well done to our male gymnasts for the Bronze medal, pity it was silver there for a while before the Japanese enquiry. If the weather holds tomorrow we will tackle the BealachNa Ba!
