Hairy Bud

I was out in the garden this evening trying to do something creative with glycerine droplets and plants but came across this plant with lovely hairy buds which unfortunately I cannot name. I expect when it flowers the identification will dawn on me. I just loved its tight spherical structure and its hairy texture. It's really small , no more than 7mm across.
