From Newport over to Dundee

Trip up to Newport on Tay today. Booking myself into a course on bookbinding in a couple of weeks at the Forgan Arts Centre. I learnt a little bit about bookbinding at uni, but I've forgotten it all now, so I'm going in as a newbie.

Keen to get making books as a way of having a physical object. A physical end point, and a physical way to play with structuring work. When you place images in a book they naturally form a narrative. From there you can play with the order, and change that narrative. My old mentor used hand made books all the time, to structure exhibitions and as a starting point for published books. It's something I've been thinking about for years, so am very excited to be getting started.
