Hens Teeth at Holmfirth Arts Week
Hen's Teeth currently have an exhibition of their work in the Methodist Chapel, next to the main supermarket car-park - and they are there all week until Saturday. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. And lunch is being served in the Methodist cafe - a limited hot food menu but we enjoyed our baked potato, salad and for me cheese and tuna.
There's a wide variety of locally made stuff for sale. I bought a really soft and wonderfully made leather bag, but there are ceramics, paintings, glasswork and lots more. Here's Pat showing off her very latest creation. (She always takes a wonderful portrait).
So many artworks on display in the main exhibition room too - in some ways too many, which made it difficult to look. Some I liked very much. We spotted Barbara Helm's two artwork tucked quite low down on a display. One of them had sold, so people were spotting them.
An evening visit to lend support to a new photographic group that are setting up in the area, called `Positive Image'. I think this promises something a bit different to the usual camera club night, certainly they are hoping to make it much more of a social club. First official night is Monday 12th Sept. It will then meet fortnightly through the year.
