Getting some air on the common
The clouds began to spread in from the western sky this afternoon, when I went up to Minchinhampton Common to meet up with Andy F.. It was going to be the first time in ages that we could throw frisbees at each other and I arrived a little early at our usual rendezvous point. The wind was up which didn't augur well for the frisbee, but it meant that this kite would easily fly high in the sky.
When Andy arrived a few minutes later, we decided to drive to the shelter of the lower slopes at Bownham Common, sheltered on the side of the valley away from the wind. We managed a good workout without hurting ourselves, which ism rare these days. This was followed by a trip to The Bear inn at Rodborough, where we supped while sitting beside the croquet lawn, where the members of the croquet club were bashing balls about with abandon. I must try to photograph them at play one day.
