What's left

We were inside minding our business this evening when there was a hell of a racket just outside. C was just in time to see a hawk of some kind flying off from just by our back door with a turtle dove.

Couldn't he rather have caught one of the thousands of fat pigeons rather than a dove of which there are not many. Over the weekend there was evidence in our driveway of another dove being taken. Hope it not us feeding them that is making them an easier target.
