Couldn't.....
.... be more proud of this little poppet tonight. She had not only one but TWO concerts. Her first ever school orchestra concert followed (immediately, and overlapping...) by her first concert with windband. She's had such a wonderful evening. It's been made more special by the fact that we shared it with B. She picked us up, delighted in waiting with us and settling Katie off, shared in Katie's joy and then drove us to the next one to encourage her some more & cheer on some other of her pupils too. It was very special to be joined by Granny and Grandad for the second concert. Katie was absolutely wonderful in that one. She loved it. I adored seeing her furrowed brow as she concentrated hard. B loved her little swinging feet that simply cannot keep still if they're not placed on a stool. I chuckled when they started to play Happy and she couldn't help but dance along as she played. I had a tear in my eye just twice, which I thought was pretty good. She looked so small tonight. Small but totally at ease and totally fitting in.
The leader of the band she will likely move up to in a year's time met her tonight and the percussion tutor came for a chat. She's thrilled at the prospect of how long they can have Katie under their charge. I'm glad we travel to go to this music service, it's an incredibly caring and warm feel to the centre. The music was fantastic too. B thinks they'll love taking her under their wing and will very much showcase her as she grows there. After tonight, I really can't wait.
