Half of our planned bicycle tour went through drizzle, but we had to make a longer ride today. Rain was no excuse anymore. After three and some hours cycling, we were in Vroenhoven near the border to the Netherlands, close to Maastricht. To avoid any climbing up hills, my initial thoughts were to first cycle downstream the Meuse and then upstream the Geul, but from Vroenhoven directly to the village would take us an hour. We decided to cross Maastricht and face the climbing, leaving the easiest way, which would have taken at least one half an hour more.
Cycling felt good. We hardly cycle as much as we would like to.
