Our local playing field (Harlaw) was closed at the end of May when a sink hole appeared. The field was built on the site of an old dye/bleach works. Many underground ducts were just covered in topsoil and this is thought to be the cause of the sinkhole. I guess this may be a bit of a headache to fix. The beautifully tended field is quickly turning wild and the grass has transformed into an urban meadow. It may be next summer until the kids can start kicking around footballs again.
