Viaer Marchi
The first Monday every July is reserved for the traditional Guernsey market in Saumarez Park. It showcases all the old traditions, Guernsey dress and Guernsey food. Tonight we had bean jar - a mixture of different types of beans and pork. Delicious. Guernsey gâche (pronounced gosh) a fruit bread with Guernsey butter. Yum. And to top it all off Rocquettes cider. This man is here every year showing how lobster pots were made traditionally. Amazingly, the rain held off and the sun shone briefly.
