Waiting for the train (not)

What a day!

We are off the Hamnavoe and the taxi gets us to the Thurso train station in plenty of time for the 8:34am train. Several of us had checked while on the ferry that was well but once at the train station and waiting a while, we found the train was cancelled!

12 of us got a transit van direct to Inverness with only a stop for a toilet break. Thank goodness for a wonderful take charge guy! Yay. We actually got to Inverness a half hour earlier than if by train.

The train from Inverness to Kyle ran as it should which was great but when we got to Kyle the taxi we had booked was not waiting for us. (Scream). We are tired and hungry now! Two quick phone calls and the owner of the taxi company himself arrives to drive us to Armadale/Ardvassar.

Just heading up to the hotel for dinner then I'm crashing. I'm glad today's adventure is over.
