Remembering

two of my Great Uncles.
I am having another MO day and didn't know what to Blip.I was thinking about the Battle of the Somme and remembered seeing details of these brave men on Ancestry when I was searching years ago. I had never heard their names mentioned but one was my Mothers Uncle and one my Fathers. I had another look yesterday and saw that Ancestry has added more info like soldiers effects.
I have attempted to take a photo which like all mine its not clear but neither was the original. Its really sad to read that Frank Skinners effects were divided between his 4 brothers and a sister (my Grandma) each receiving £2.19.10d. If I have done my LSD correctly the Grand Total is £14.19s and 2d. For a Life ? I think his name will be on the Delhi Memorial.
The other Uncle James Wheaton only left £5:11s.6d .In 1903 he had sailed to New York to be with his sister, He was only 17 and for whatever reason he returned to England. Later on he enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers and died in 1916 aged 30  at France and Flanders. His name is on a Memorial Cross in the village of Cramlington which is quite near to where I live.
