Geoff Hughes

Regular visitors to my blips will know that I've usually started blipping sweet peas well before July. Not this year. My 200+ sweet peas have been very poor. I put them out just before the weather turned cold and wet, which didn't help. Then I got plagued by blue tits eating the tops off and now an infestation of aphids. As things stand today there won't be any competition entries this year. However, I have managed a half-decent bunch of Geoff Hughes for the house. I haven't grown Geoff Hughes before. Introduced in 2010 as a tribute to the Coronation Street actor, its supposed to be an orange flake on a white ground but mine look more pink than orange.  More tomorrow.
