As we were around North Carlisle and the sun looked as if it might come out briefly, we went in search of the sea at Port Carlisle. The sun did come out . . . briefly. Still being bothered by my knee, so it was a slow amble, rather than a walk. Here is the view across the Solway with the remains of the docks from when this was a busy sea port. 

I was intrigued by the flower head in extras - I have no idea what it is and assume it is something very common, but I was fascinated by the folded up flowers all ready to uncurl.
