Incoming evening tide pushing the water from the River Ness towards the Beauly Firth.
In a second similar photo, just after this one, a teeny spec appeared. With closer inspection of the full-sized version, you could just make out the shape of a breaching Bottlenose Dolphin. A pleasant surprise. Just hope it's okay after what was being discharged yesterday from the foreground outfall pipe, along with the surge of rainwater from the downpour.
There were Otters here on Monday evening - I'd forgotten about that, at Blip upload time. It was windy, and I wouldn't have noticed them in the waves. But one was calling. A short squeak-like call. It had been several years since I'd last heard that call, in a bay on the North of Ulva, by Mull. It took a few seconds to recall what kind of creature made that noise. And a few more to briefly spot the pair. They disappeared somewhere under the bridge, still periodically giving a few calls. Only previous Blip of them here.
