Church Fete
Many thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts on my Blip yesterday. Blip Central asked anyone who had done a Blip commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme to tag them #wearehere so if you are interested, all the Blips can be seen by searching that tag.
Today was the annual fete at the village church. In view of the weather it was held inside the church rather than in the grounds, and sadly, the annual teddy bear parachute jump from the top of the clock tower had to be cancelled for safety reasons. I don't think they were concerned for the teddy bears, more for the person launching them. W had baked a cake for the cake sale but we still managed to buy a rather good coffee and walnut cake to bring home along with some local gooseberries. We had some considerable success on the tombola too, winning wine, beer, fruit juice, shower gel and hand cream. I reckon we made a profit on the day!
