Trying to get that high contrast thing

Looked across at the mountains today and there was a brilliant blue hue - haze mainly so not very photographic, but the sun was also hitting the rocks to bring out an amazing contrast.

And you kinda think to all the Ansel Adams stuff that is high contrast, so quickly got out my rubbish 80-200mm lens (found in Dixons many years ago as "missing lens cap but new) for £24, slapped it on the body I use for personal shots during this period, and tried to get a few shots.

Not sure if this is what I wanted though. It's in the right direction. Probably too dark.
