Hard days work ....
The rain god's decided to have some fun today. The silage team got started by 9 am but the grass was quite wet after last night's heavy rain. It was just starting to dry up when the heavens opened about 3pm. They were in the last field by now so kept going. I spent the day sheeting the silage pit here and if I never see another tyre it will be too soon . Unfortunately the pit next door is still to do, and it looks like a mini Ben Nevis. The effluent is now pouring out both pits too. I pumped out the tank here at midnight last night and it was full by 6am. Now waiting to do the same tonight before I go to bed.
Have just had to bring in a cow to calve too. Took a bit of a pull with the calving jack but seems OK.
This is the sticker on one of the contractors silage trailers. This type of steel is much lighter and stronger than normal mild steel allowing heavier loads to be carried.
