Roadtrip day 2 - Waiting
After badly slept night (nothing wrong with the facilities, just too much worries in the head) we took the dogs out for their morning walk, fed them and then went to get some breakfast for ourselves. Well, to a FODMAP “mandatorist" there was only a banana and coffee available. At least I got the coffee.
Then back to our room and with both hands on to the task at hand. After some calls, our car dealer managed to get the missing paper to us via email. (Our mail was checked today and still no paper version, so it too clearly was misplaced by the postoffice.
Back to the Toyota garage. (Blue picture with mountains. Taken in front of their building.) Papers in order, but they do not have time for our can until after Siesta. Figures. So we take the car, drive to nearest park and spend the next 3,5 hours there. First some sitting. Then some walking around the park. Mind you we had our valuables with us so it was heavy in the heat. Finally we took the dogs blanket and put it under palm trees to get shade and just hung there. Locals joined us. (Second picture going clock wise.)
Then via Mercadona (to get some salads and drinks) back to Toyota garage. Salads and some juice in the hard burned “grass”. While Olli-Pekka goes in with the car, dogs and I continue our park session on the blanket again. It’s now 32°C and we all feel drained. Olli-Pekka comes back and we wait again. At 16:30 they call that they have a diagnose for the car.
It’s something with the catalysator(?). Filter blocked. They can fix it, but it will be 7 pm or later when it’s ready. But this time we can wait inside in the reception if the dogs behave.
Inside then. New camp set up there. (picture with red chair) People coming and going. Dogs are so tired that luckily they don’t care so much about noises or commotion around. I keep Buddha on my lap as he starts to feel threatened by strangers. We manage. At least they have good free wifi to help pass time.
We use the time to find a hotel for the night. And to catch up with emails and social media.
Bit over 7 pm the car is ready. 249€ later we are able to take it on the road again. 69 km to our hotel. We are in a place called Vinarós. The hotel Crystal Park in lovely. They made us feel very welcome with the dogs. There’s even a pool that is open until 12pm. I’m considering it. I have my bikinis, but not the beach towel. Wifi is poor. It comes and goes. Tv is showing football, which is better than the tv last night. Dogs can be walked on the dirt roads, which is so much better than the city where we were last night. We have air con, but also open road to the balcony helps. Last night it was suffocating to sleep without the air con, but too cold with the air con set to 24°C.
This evening we took our evening walk towards mountains and this magnificent sunset. In the morning we’ll walk towards see, which we can see from our balcony.
Dogs are beat. They snore. I’m too. I hope I won’t.
Still have to make new plans for our road trip which got royally messed up regarding the planning.
Buenas noches a todos!
