Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

ASTRANTIA

It's always a special moment when the Astrantia come into bloom.   It's not just their beauty, their hardiness  or their 'triple fractal'* structure that pleases me, but the fact that my oldest brother gave me a small plant years ago. It took time to establish, but it now thrives and spreads.  Last year I saved some seeds and the wee things are now ready to plant out, so if your garden needs one of these, let me know.

Home today from a lovely holiday in Northumberland.  It's always a delight to go there, but to be escorted by the Professor is the icing on the cake.  it was a photographic failure, but who cares?  I've back blipped some extras to yesterday's entry so you could see the man and his castles.  No drooling, mind, he's all mine.

*I confess I'm not sure what that means, but it sounded good when I read it...
