Here is Looking at You

Posting hummingbird photos today. Hope you like them.
Bad news.....my nest with the junco eggs is empty, no broken shells so perhaps a snake came in and got them? That is the trouble with a nest near the ground. ALSO....the eagles' nest fell from way up in that tree. A branch broken off first and the large branch and the nest fell Sunday, then this afternoon the rest of the tree crashed to the ground. BUT the baby is okay......amazing. Someone from Audubon came out and actually gave the young lady a good checking over; they decided she was safe and people have been watching to see that both parents are staying near and they have been going down to feed her. I was told that they are coming back out tomorrow to check on her again. If they think she is not okay where she is, they will take her to the rescue center....but hopefully she will be okay for the next three weeks .....that is when she is scheduled to fledge. On a happier note, I saw a juvenile nuthatch and a juvenile black capped chickadee at the feeder today.....I didn't have a camera handy. Also, the juvenile Downy Woodpecker has become quite capable of feeding herself at the suet feeder.
