Handbiking
The weather, and generally being busy, has meant meeting back up with Ken to see his handbike out in the wild, rather than in his flat, was delayed, and delayed, and delayed. But the stars aligned on the way home from work tonight, even if Peter's Yard was closed, meaning Starbuck's was the substitute, with no decent food. Bah.
The handbike is heavy, and hard work, and not in the slightest bit intuitive. But by 'eck is it fun. This is a brute of an off-road machine - he's got a roadbike arriving sometime soon too, which is a recumbent model, with handcrank and steerer all in one. Not sure that'll be any more intuitive, but I'll be after a shot of that as well.
Earlier in the day I managed to get out for a spin at lunchtime, pushing it to rack up an extra 12 miles, which meant after the coffee I only needed 3 and a half to get the 500 miles for the month. In the end it was 4.3 to get home, so I cruised it. The training is coming together. Now to see if I can manage it two months in a row (though tomorrow I'm having a day off the bike).
