Agapanthus Amourette
After lunch we decided to pop up to Carlisle. Clickychick had left her watch with the gentleman who used to be our jobber when we were in the jewellery trade to have a safety chain re-fixed.
An trip to near Carlisle results in a visit to at least one garden centre and today was no exception (we visited 2). The weather was a bit dire with rain most of the time. While we did venture into the open under the umbrella mostly we were under cover. This was taken from cover of a plant just outside.
Agapanthus or African Lilly are as the name would suggest native to south Africa. Mainly in shades of blue and purple although white and pink are available. Being perennial they can be propagated by simply dividing the plant when it grows larger. The scientific name appears to mean love flower Agape = Love and Anthos = Flower.
