Up with the Lark

I was due to meet up with a friend for a walk today, but the forecast was for very heavy rain, so we decided to go for a coffee instead. A good decision as it turned out as it was very wet indeed.  I woke up very early, however, and the sun was streaming through the window and I had no inclination to go back to sleep, so I got up and had a wander through some nearby fields, where I was treated to the sight and sound or Lapwing, Curlew, and unexpected Reed Bunting, and lots and lots of Skylarks. It's a pleasure to see them doing so well locally.
Just getting ready to set out on my latest bus pass adventure tomorrow.
