The Life Jacket exhibition

Some of the life jackets that the students and teachers have designed are incredible. The baby life jacket covered with toy rattles reduced me to tears as did the life jacket with weights attached to it (as some of the 'life jackets' sold are fakes and do nothing but absorb water and pull you down).

We had two guest speakers this evening at our CAS event. A representative from the Greek embassy and a guy who escaped from Iraq by being smuggled out in an oil tanker. His crime was listening to and loving heavy metal music. He received death threats and was shot at until he had no choice but to leave. He was eventually granted refugee status in Belgium. His story was incredible and it was so good seeing our students speaking to him and asking questions afterwards.
