After the Rain

As if we haven't had our fair share of rain, it's poured down most of the day.
Needed to go into Leeds to buy some items for Mr P as on Friday he and Tim, our son, are mountain biking from Whitehaven (off road through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors) to Scarborough. More rain forecast so it doesn't look like my idea of fun.
Still raining when l got home so had to wait until this evening to go round the corner to take a photograph of these pine cones and new growth on a discarded Christmas tree in the corner of a garden that l passed last week..
It amazes me that some things carry on growing even if they get no attention and other plants fail no matter what you do to try and help them.
