Sandwich Terns

I don't ever remember seeing Sandwich Terns on the rocks beside the beach in Elie.  At high tide the rocks are totally submerged but when I was down on the beach early this morning with the dog the tide was on the way out and the very slippy, seaweed covered rocks made an ideal resting place for the terns and some eider ducks.  I wish I had been a bit closer but the conditions underfoot were not ideal for me in my purple wellies.
