L & A also left us today, as they had further plans to visit a Roman site at Caerleon in South Wales, so we were back to just the two of us:-(  It had been so nice to have such great company.

Never mind - there was still plenty to do and see, so we visited the town of Lampeter as a change from all the coastal areas we'd seen.  Nice town with friendly people and a good sense of fun (see extra for fish & chip shop sign), but not a great deal to see so we moved on to the interesting ruins of Strata Florida Abbey (main blip).  We had the site to ourselves and it was lovely to wander round and admire the architecture and the lovely old tiles on the remaining floors. We had great fun trying to pronounce the names of some of the towns and villages along the way home, but know that they sound nothing like they seem:-)  Pontrhydfendigaid, anyone??
