Ponder about the future of what soon will be past

At the border of the fast expanding outskirts of our town, an old man looks at people on the fields that will be swallowed by the city in th near future.
He told me about memories of the elder, ponders about what he remebers from the place where he is sitting now, already swallowed by what is the future for new generations.
