SOS
Final call for our telecommunications mast that reaches up eight metres from our roof terrace. Our neighbours, when we moved in eighteen years ago, thought and still think that I work as a secret agent for MI5 and send secret messages through our mast every night. In truth, this apparatus was necessary to receive television signals in our cul-de-sac which is surrounded by high buildings . . . not that we watched or watch more than two hours per quarter. Now we have fibre optic that brings in the internet - and TV channels at no extra cost. So, adios mast and my double-0 status!
