A Glittery Bloom

This is the very first shot I've ever taken of a Fishhook Barrel Cactus flower in full bloom.

I think it's awesome. I took a lot of different angles but I think this one was the best one to see how the center is propped up for the sparkling tendrils and stamen.

There are a bunch of buds on it because it is just coming into it's peak blooming season. It needed to absorb water from monsoon rains and the considerably high dew points we've had during the past few weeks.

Maybe some day during my recovery, I'll be able to catch a multiple bloom.
