Chateau de fenelon - an unusual angle!!
My blip today is a mono Monday pic of chateau de fenelon - I noticed that this weeks challenge is to have an unusual angle; I have included as an extra a more typical take on the chateau!
Today was our last day in the Dordogne. We set out this morning with the idea of a more leisurely cycle along the river hence avoiding to many hills. On the way we got some great views of one of the Simon de Montfort castles (extra pic 2) and then took a very uphill detour to see chateau de fenelon. It is not huge but in good condition and interesting - actually looks like it used to be a home.
We cycled on to Souillac for lunch, along the river cycle path - so all according to plan. Then, for some unexplainable reason we decided to take the scenic (read hilly!) route back to Sarlat!! We seemed to climb just about every hill in the Dordogne, well at least it felt that way, including one so we ended up way above Sarlat at the end. In total we did 45 miles today, but still clocked up 3,000 calories.
It has been a great 4 days in Sarlat - lots lf cycling, quite a bit of sight seeing, some lovely meals and of course good company. Back home tomorrow and really looking forward to seeing the family.
