Life begins on the underside of a leaf

I knew I should have blipped them before they hatched.
These bug eggs on the olive tree were a geometric work of art before they hatched out. Not so pretty now but we have been fascinated by them. They don't appear to have done any damage to the Olive Tree.

I think they are what we call Shield bugs, known as "stink bugs" in the USA, but I am not 100% sure. I'm hoping that somebody in the know about insects might help me out on this one.

Typical that this is my one day off work this week and we have had torrential rain on and off.

I am very happy that Team GB have won a silver medal in the Women's cycling road race. Very well done Lizzie Armitstead! Very exciting watching that last sprint.
