Lest we forget
In June 1940 my grandfather scaled down these cliffs at Veules-les-roses, Normandy to escape invading nazi's. Fortunately for me he survived but many of his collegues didn't and were killed whilst in retreat. When at the bottom he managed to get to an under fire British warship ship which then ran aground and was eventually sunk, another ship managed to escape the onslaught with him and many other soldiers on-board. This story i know as my grandfather managed to write his life story before he died.
Lest we forget the difficult times they went through.
