Where Longrow South Meets Longrow
14.5C bright with sunny spells and plenty of cloud. Wind to 20 mph Westerly.
Maeve the Deerhound wanted to go out at 6.30am, so I had an early start today. I took a camera and had a look for something with an "unusual angle" for Mono Monday. There were some opportunities in the quiet streets and as we came back through town I thought the junction where Longrow South meets Longrow had plenty of unusual angles. Have a look at the white line in the middle of the road ...
After lunch Maeve and I went for a short walk. I had intended to take her for one of our usual walks but she didn't seem very keen on walking so we just went round to the harbour and came home again through town.
Once Maeve was back home and settled I went for a walk. Runrig on the iPod Mini (Heartland then The Cutter and the Clan). I went round to the harbour. The cargo vessel Scot Isles was tied up by the new quay and the mobile cranes were alongside waiting to load a wind turbine section. I was tempted to use the ship and the cranes for unusual angles but in the end decided to go with the street shot because it is something different for me. There was only one turbine section on the quay, and I am guessing it might have been too windy for loading today. There were no signs of the usual escort vans and police cars that are around when the sections are arriving along the road on the huge low loaders.
I went along by the ferry terminal and followed the shore side of the park and on out Kilkerran road to the Goldsmith's studio at Glenramskill where I turned round to come back. I came back along the road then the street side of the park and through town.
When I got back home Maeve was fast asleep.
This afternoon I have been listening to Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, and U2.
No bird list today. You will have the idea by now of the species I see most often.
There were birds of course ... but no Gannets !
There is always tomorrow.
